Yes No Maybe So
Why does Maya love spending time at Jamie's house in the novel, Yes No Maybe So?
.
.
For Maya, Jaime's house is a refuge. While Jamie loves his family, he always thinks of his house as a place of chaos and activity, describing his kitchen as “a paper apocalypse” (11). Maya meanwhile, loves Jamie’s house, and loves the chaos and messiness, “I know how Jamie complains about how loud and messy his house can get, but I love that about his place. . . Rolls of washi tape on the table. The sofa filled with friends and Goldfish crackers. His house isn’t chaotic. It’s perfect” (249).
