Qing-jao, also referred to as Gloriously Bright, is an xtraordinarily precocious child. She demonstrates a stronger connection to the gods, as well as a greater intelligence than most of the godspoken children. By the time she is sixteen, she is already well versed in the arts, particularly the poetic works of her namesake from ancient earth, Li Qing-jao. Qing-jao's knowledge of science and computing, however, is extraordinary..... rivaling that of the most highly trained adults. When presented with scientific data from the Lusitania colony, she immediately draws conclusions to things that have evaded the Lusitania scientists all their lives. While she is very pious, truly living only to serve the gods and to bring honor to her father, her character is afflicted with pride.
