Who is Miro from Xenocide and what is their importance?

Miro is Ender's step-child. Paralyzed while trying to help the piggies, Miro is considered a hero but prefers to isolate himself from society. He willingly volunteers to meet Valentine's ship, and later, becomes very close to Jane..... a machine like being that Ender has been in contact with for years.
