Who is Eric Lensherr/ Magneto from the motion picture, X2?

Magneto establishes himself as an enemy to humans in the first X-Men movie. Having been foiled and captured by the X-Men, he spends the first part of X2 in a plastic prison cell, the only type of room that can safely and securely hold him. One of the most powerful mutants on the planet, Magneto possesses the ability to mentally control the forces of magnetism, and is thereby able to manipulate metal objects.

Magneto was once a friend and colleague of Professor X, helping him develop the powerful mind machine Cerebro. According to the comic book and first movie, Magneto is the only one of his family to survive the Auschwitz death camp during the Holocaust.
