What happens that makes Casey give up on Silas before they even go out?

Silas calls Casey on the day of their first date to cancel. He is vague about his reasons, simply saying that he has to get out of town for a while and he does not know when he will return. After her experience with Luke, Casey feels done with men who are noncommittal and flakey.
