How does Oscar behave at the book reading in Chapter 38?

Oscar behaves like a spoiled narcissist as he prepares for the reading. Casey realizes that she has never seen this side of him, which is petty and jealous. Most of the evening, Oscar comes across to Casey as irritating, although he clearly charms the audience.
