What does Beans pull out of the freezer when the gang is at his house? What does he do with it? The author does not tell us how Palmer feels about what Beans has done. Based on what you know of Palmer, how does he feel about the prank?

From his freezer, Beans pulls out the frozen carcass of a muskrat. The boys play around with the frozen animal, and then Beans places it in the microwave to thaw. He then goes to Dorothy's house and nails the muskrat by the tail to the front door and rings the doorbell. The boys watch as Dorothy's mother opens the door, sees the dead animal and screams. The only hint the author gives as to Palmer's reaction to the trick is the sound of the scream traveling like "icy buckshot" through his body. Based on what we know about Palmer's sensitivity, he feels badly about frightening Dorothy's mother.
