When Beans first tells Farquar that Palmer is a birthday boy, Farquar ignores him and spits Coke out between his teeth. When he tells Beans to wait, Beans immediately backs down and sits with the gang on the corner waiting. He does not dare speak to Farquar again. Palmer however refuses The Treatment, stands up to Farquar and the gang by saying no.
