After refusing The Treatment and leaving the gang, Palmer again places Nipper's needs above his. What does he decide to do next?

Palmer is tempted to stay hidden behind the dumpster until nightfall. He realizes, however, that Nipper will be returning to his window sill again soon, and Beans and the gang might hurt Nipper if they get to Palmer's house first. Risking being caught himself by the gang, he runs home to make sure Nipper is safe.
