What happens to Hephaestus after he is cast out of his father's realm in the book, Women Who Run with the Wolves?

When his father casts him down and out of Olympus, Hephaestus is granted his own realm below, where his great smithing skills will prosper and, despite his ugliness, he will win fame and respect.
