For what purpose does La Loba gather wolf bones in the book, Who Run with the Wolves?

La Loba gathers the wolf bones together in her cave wherein she performs a resurrection along with a joyous celebration of life through the power of her own singing. However, the impression is that she could not do this without the actual bones of the wolf.
