Who destroys the sutler's clock in the novel, Wolves of Eden?

Although, Michael swears to smash the clock before all is said and done, it is actually Sarah who "[smashes] it to bits on the bar" in the midst of stabbing the sutler's wife. The clock's destruction signifies Sarah's freedom from the sutler and his wife, and her newfound ability lead a better life.
