Why does Ansel, Calla's brother, betray her in the novel, Wolfsbane?

Ansel had his wolf taken from him by the Keepers because of Calla's actions. Willing to do anything to get it back, Ansel betrays Calla by telling the Keepers where to find the Searchers' Denver post.
