The mirrors that appear in Wizard of the Crow are symbols both of Kamiti's clients' lack of awareness, as well as their acquisitiveness and material obsession. Kamiti forces all of his clients, who are mostly wealthy and in pursuit of greater wealth, to stare into a mirror; this action replicates the way in which Kamiti tells his clients truths about themselves that they have repressed. Sikiokuu's willingness to buy multiple mirrors--all imported from Western countries--also indicates his inclination to solve problems of the spirit and the soul with material objects.
