Who is Demmin Nass from Wizard's First Rule and what is their importance?

Demmin Nass is the tall, blond, well-muscled, smooth-chested second-in-command to the villain Darken Rahl. His first name sounds like "demon" while his last name suggests "nasty." He is a nasty demon indeed, a pedophile who abuses young boys and then murders many of them. When he is finally overcome by Kahlan's powers as Confessor, he admits that he has killed 80-100 young boys. It is Demmin who had killed Rachel's brother, and tried to pin the murder on Brophy. Kahlan slices off Demmin's genitals and under her orders he eats them. She extracts all the information she needs from him before he dies.
