What is Silas' mother's opinion of the care Bernice receives in the hospital in the short-story, Witness?

Silas and Bernice's mother comes to the hospital when Bernice is admitted and immediately contradicts everything the doctors tell her. Eventually, Bernice dies, and their mother blames everyone within earshot for Bernice's death.
