This novel is told from the third-person point of view from the perspective of a variety of different characters. The characters whose perspectives are used include Ayers, Irene, Cash, Baker, Huck, and Maia. By employing a variety of different perspectives, the author allows the story to be told from all different angles. Friends and family members of Rosie, as well as family members of Russ, contribute to the story so that both of these characters are represented fairly. Neither of these characters is portrayed as a villain but instead a person who was loved and respected. Irene, Cash, and Baker’s points of view allows the author to describe the anger that Russ’ family members feel when they learn how Russ deceived them.
