Who is Scarlet in the novel, Winter Turning?

Scarlet is a SandWing dragon who is the former queen of the SandWings, though her daughter Ruby is now recognized as the SandWing queen. Scarlet is brutal and ruthless. She hates the five original dragonets of destiny, especially Glory who spit venom on Scarlet and disfigured her face. Scarlet is bent on revenge and goes to great lengths to get it. She is so caught up in her desire to kill Glory, Clay, Tsunami, Sunny, and Starflight that she is not always smart or careful in her actions. She seems to feel invincible, especially now that she has someone doing magic on her behalf.
