Winter Dreams
What happened in Section 6 of Winter Dreams?
.
.
• Seven years have passed and Dexter has established himself as a successful businessman in New York.
• One day, a man named Devlin comes into Dexter's office and mentions knowing someone from Dexter's hometown.
• Dexter does not have to ask to know that the person he speaks of is Judy.
• Devlin tells Dexter that Judy's husband drinks and does not treat her well; he also cheats on Judy.
• Dexter asks if Judy runs around as well, and Devlin tells him that she stays at home with the kids.
• Devlin does not believe Judy will ever leave her husband because she loves him and she always forgives him.
• Devlin tells Dexter that Judy has lost her looks.
• Dexter is nearly outraged and he tells Devlin that Judy was the most beautiful woman.
• When Devlin leaves, Dexter lies on the couch and thinks about the beauty of the Sherry Island and the beauty of Judy Jones.
• Then he realized there is no point as that beauty no longer exists in the world.
• Dexter cannot care nor can he cry; he feels that his winter dreams have been taken away from him.
