How does the author use symbolism in the book, Winnie-the-Pooh?

One example of symbolism can be found in Eeyore's tail. Eeyore, a donkey, is constantly losing his tail, something that symbolizes the way we can lose a part of ourselves and rediscover it at another time. The tail is also an allusion to the game, "Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
