Vanessa had a choice when she found the members of Jane Street Six. She could have turned them in so they would have faced justice according to the law. However, she chose to kill them to obtain a financial reward. She tries to justify her behavior by claiming that she committed the crimes to avenge her son's death when, in reality, she did it to increase her standard of living.
