How does the author use rhetoric in the book, Win: A Novel?

Win speaks to readers in a natural manner. This both characterizes him and allows him to justify his behavior. He asks readers rhetorical questions. For example, when he is in his gym he says, “Don’t I sound a bit like Batman?” (36).
