Interesting enough this was a recent topic in my composition class. When referring to Shakespeare as a poet of nature Johnson wass actually making a reference to the nature of people versus the idea of the natural world. Shakespeare's works were so elimentally basic to everyone regardless of status or class that they could be equally related to and enjoyed by all.
