Who is the leader of the bandits in the novel, Wildwood (Wildwood Chronicles)?

Brendan, also known as the Bandit King, is the fearless leader of the bandits of the Wildwood. He leads his men bravely and is not afraid to challenge the Governess. While he would be willing to help Prue get to her destination in North Wood, his priority is to his people. So, when the coyotes catch Prue's scent, he draws her away from the camp so that it will not be discovered. After he is captured by the coyotes and locked in the prison with Curtis and four other bandits, he learns about the Governess's plan to feed the ivy with Mac's blood. He has a renewed determination to stop Alexandra. He fights even when it seems hopeless.
