Who is Dmitri in the novel, Wildwood (Wildwood Chronicles)?

Dmitri is one of the first coyotes that Prue and Curtis encounter in the wood. He is fighting with another soldier and is not very disciplined. He has been conscripted into Alexandra's army. He is not really loyal to her. As such, he would just as easily prefer to be home in his own small warren with his family of new cubs. Curtis encounters Dmitri a second time when they are both prisoners in the Governess's cages. He has been locked up for general insolence. In his dealings with the bandits and Curtis he is rather friendly and really harbors no ill will toward any of them. When the bandits escape from the cages, they encourage Dmitri to come along. Although he is afraid that he will be hanged for desertion, he soon realizes that he will be better off trying to escape. He assists the bandits in finding Brendan and getting out of the warren. Once outside, he parts ways with the bandits and sheds his soldier uniform before running home to his warren.
