Prue's name represents someone who is cautious and shows wisdom in their approach to a situation as defined by the word prudence. Prue exercises caution in discerning whom to trust in South Wood and in choosing the right people to ask for assistance. Prue's name also stands in contrast the rash decision her parents made as they accepted Alexandra's offer to give them a child if they would give her their second.
