Hiking that day, Cheryl becomes increasingly angry with her mother for not living to see her 50th birthday. To keep positive memories out of her mind, she thinks of all of the mistakes her mother made throughout their childhood and about how angry she is that she didn't get the chance to grow up, accept her mother's faults and appreciate her for who she was.
