What is the importance of "Googie's" in the novel, Widespread Panic?

Google's is a club where Freddy often goes to meet people. After he becomes a major part of the Confidential, people often meet him to give tips about stars and events for the magazine. Though it is technically a coffee shop, it is also a gathering place for a lot of people involved in the film industry.
