Who is George Tyacke from Wideacre and what is their importance?

George Tyacke, named after his grandfather, tears down fences on the Common as Beatrice orders them put up. When Beatrice brings in soldiers to stop the destruction, three young boys —including George's grandson—are caught in the act. The Tyacke boy gets away but the other two are incarcerated. Fearing hanging, George comes to Beatrice, claiming that he instigated the destruction and that he was there. Beatrice, however, knew George was not involved, and she objects. Harry, on the other hand, snatches the confession and turns the old man in to the authorities.
