Who is Denise from White Noise and what is their importance?

Denise is Babette's daughter from her first marriage. She is eleven-years-old and wuite concerned about her mother, as well as her mother's use of Dylar. Denise eventually takes her mother's use of the drug into her own hands and hides it from Babette.
