What is the main conflict in the novel, Whispers Through a Megaphone?

Three years ago after an attack, Miriam Delaney had clawed her attacker’s eyes. She has locked herself inside her home because she is afraid of what she might do to someone now. At the beginning of the novel, Miriam knows she must venture out of her home, develop meaningful relationships with people, and confront the things that frighten her. She is making a plan for herself with the help of her one friend, Fenella.
