What is the main conflict in the novel, Whiskey Beach?

Landon is a recently retired attorney who has faced the most horrific year of his life. First, Landon discovers that his wife is cheating on him. Then, the soon-to-be ex-wife is murdered. Landon is the only suspect and is arrested. Although Landon is acquitted, his wife’s family and a hard-nosed detective still believe Landon is guilty. Landon decides to go home to Bluff House on Whiskey Beach, a rural Massachusetts beach community.
