Jacob's farm is 48-acres, with land for planting and raising cattle. He pays great attention to the farm, monitoring the fields as the weather becomes more and more unpredictable. There is a large garden which provides food for the family, and Jacob later expands this plot in order to grow more food after the Blackout. The farm has a main house, where the family lives, as well as a daadi haus, which is meant to house grandparents. Mike and his family stay in the daadi haus when they come to stay with Jacob's family. Jacob makes jerky and crafts furniture on his farm, as well.
