Where do Miranda and her mother keep a spare key to the apartment?

Miranda recalls how she was once locked out of her apartment after school because she forgot her key. For this reason, Miranda's mother has hidden a key in the fire hose down the hall. Miranda has been asked in one of the mystery notes to mention this key in the story she has been asked to write.
