What is the denouement in the novel, When We Were Birds?

The denouement comes when Yejide and Darwin visit the cemetery. Darwin has had a headstone erected for his father, who Darwin has learned died shortly after he arrived in Port Angeles. Darwin writes a letter to his mother and tells her that Levi never abandoned them.
