What happens when Beatriz returns to her apartment after the gala in the novel, When We Left Cuba?

After the gala, Beatriz returns home to the flat with the microfilm, only to find herself face to face with Ramon and the gun he holds to her belly. She kills Ramon and flees to Nick Preston, abandoning the body in the flat for the CIA to clean up.
