When Stars Are Scattered
How does Omar describe his first school in the memoir, When Stars Are Scattered?
.
.
Omar's first school is portrayed on pg. 43 as a long light building, and on the inside packed with children wearing bright colors. The girls are on one side of the room, and the boys on the other and “there aren’t as many girls as there are boys” (45). The children sit at very basic long desks, without any tools, and a teacher stands at the front of a big black chalkboard.
