When Stars Are Scattered
How do Geri and Omar make money during Ramadan as noted in the memoir, When Stars Are Scattered?
.
.
In Chapter Nine, Jeri presents Omar with an idea to make money during Ramadan. His scheme includes getting a tub of Orange Drink, and then selling it in portions at a marked up price to women for the holiday. They know that most refugees cannot afford an entire tub of the orange drink, so instead selling it in portions works for everyone. This also allows the authors to explain the holiday of Ramadan to the reader as Omar and Hassan take advantage of the holiday.
