New York City is Emily's favorite city in the whole world. Even when she is living in Los Angeles fulltime, she goes to New York at least twice a month. She used to live there permanently when she worked at Runway magazine, but she got tired of the constant stress of working for someone as stringent as Miranda Priestly. The city is presented as a place full of intelligent, successful people who are all thriving and happy.
