Why does Sunny end her possible relationship with Lin Jun after one date in the novel, What We Were Promised?

Sunny finds that Lin is a good man; she can feel “the goodness leap from him” (203). He sells DVDs for a living. He had a home to share, could run a business, and was more than an acceptable potential partner. But he is too forward and tells Sunny right away that he is looking for a committed relationship, and Sunny ends their courtship right after the first date.
