What causes Arthur to lose trust in Ben in the novel, What If It’s Us?

When Ben keeps it a secret that he hasn't sent or thrown away the breakup box, Arthur knows that he's not as over Hudson as it seems. Arthur doesn't trust Ben after Ben hides the box from him.
