How does Riz come to symbolize change in the novel, What Happened to Rachel Riley?

Riz Kapoor is one of the boys who harasses the girls. Even after the meeting where consequences are laid out, Riz snaps Malika’s bra strap. Malika and Cody both confront him, however, and Anna sees him mumble something, likely an apology, to Malika. In this instance, he symbolizes that sometimes things can change if people are held accountable.
