As Lizzie is responsible for both dropping off and picking up her son Eli at and from school, she often finds herself at his preschool. Eli’s preschool is a setting that Lizzie associates with fear and dread, as she worries that something bad may happen to her son once she leaves him alone in such a massive building. Lizzie also does not have any positive relationships with the teachers or other parents at the school, and often feels out of place as she waits for Eli.
