How does the author use "darkness" in the book, Weather: A Novel?
.
.
As is represented through Sylvia’s decision to both move away and quit her podcast, darkness is a symbol of isolation in the novel. Sylvia says she wants to move somewhere dark, wherein the darkness represents a lack of human activity and presence. However, this isolation is not a wholly negative experience for Sylvia, as it also allows for a time of reflection. Though she still believes the world is ending, she is nonetheless able to find contentment in her isolation from her busy life.
