Who is Claudia in the novel, We Are Okay?

Claudia is a female potter who owns a combined studio and store in the New York town in which Marin goes to college. When asked, Claudia offers Marin a job. She is described as “probably Mabel’s parents’ age, with gray-blond hair swept back in a barrette and lines by her eyes when she smiles” (68).
