Once a bustling metropolis, Seattle is now ruined and overrun by abbies, who are constructing new buildings of wood and earth, like a hive or a nest. Their new civilization is discovered by Adam Tobias Hassler, who returns the great distance to Wayward Pines in order to give the information gathered on his mission to Pilcher, and to reunite with Theresa.
