Acording to Berger et al., how can the story of Adam and Eve explain the shamefulness associated with being naked?

As the story in Genesis goes, Adam and Eve are not ashamed to be naked until after they eat the apple. Since it is Eve who tempted Adam to eat the fruit, she is made subservient to Adam and she is forever associated with causing the shame of nakedness.
