She is Nora's Aunt who she has lived with since she was two. Violet had a husband who cheated on her and later died and she inhereit his fortune and ever since has never seen man in a good way. Violet raised Nora to believe all man are evil and limited her to the outside world. Violet dies and leaves Nora on her own.
