What does Warren Henry do before the Battle of Midway in the novel, War and Remembrance?

Just before the battle at Midway, Warren picks up his Bible and reads a verse that indicates he should get his house in order, because he will not live. While Warren seems to put no faith in that passage, he has put his affairs in order—as will become evident after his death in a crash at the battle of Midway.
