When Willy sees the bay is filled with British ships, she knows that she's going to have to make decisions about her life. She considers going to Mrs. Ledyard, but knows that would be almost the same is going into slavery. She also knows she could marry but notes there are no men she would want to marry. She decides she has to go to the only relatives she has, Aunt Betsy and Uncle Jack Arabus.
